3 Stars Descent protection, flawed design… Still looks cool…
I have used my speck case since June and it has managed well. It has cracked on right back corner, and one of the feet has fallen off. I am going to just buy another one I think. I am hard on my stuff so I like to insure it by having good protective gear. FYI the places where it snaps are on the plastic edge, and this is fairly soft plastic so it can get scratched or worn down quite easily. I don’t mind this as much as I would having the bottom get dented etc. Also the battery indicator and battery are not easily accessible. This thing is not simple to remove. If you travel and carry an extra battery, this may not be your best bet. It also gets dust inside and can potentially scratch up the inside. The clear case shows the dust quite blatantly, I would go for the black or red. Also, if your usb device has an abnormally large base, you may be limited to the port on the right side. The audio in and out are also tight fits it your head phones again have a large base. The upside to this custom fit of the ports is the protection against the dreaded mag-safe scratches. over all, if you plan on having this protect your case your will be satisfied, if you plan on making it look sweet and having people say “I haven’t seen that mac, is it new?” Then you will be delighted.

When I first received this case it didn’t properly fit my MacBook Pro, after contacting Speck’s customer service they sent me a new one no charge or shipping fee. I appreciate it when a company stands by there products! When the new one came it fit perfectly & does the job I had hoped it would do! If your looking for a way to protect your Mac investment, this case totally helps!

4 Stars Nerdly, but Nice
People are always talking about the dinks and bends that happen to their macbook pro’s over time. It is a cruel trick apple plays on us by making us this great machine, yet somehow the shell of the machine mysteriously appears with fresh blemishes and warping every now and then.

The Speck Macbook Pro case is a fairly tough plastic shell that covers the top, bottom and much of the edges of the laptop. It still allows for all your connections and opening and closing, and actually makes my computer look like iron man or some kind of suped up macbook special. Which is kind of fun. Of course its a but bulkier now, and I do feel like an overprotective parent… but who cares, my computer stays in perfect condition.. I look super nerdly cool and well… its fun.

Bought it for my Macbook Pro 15″ and it fits perfectly. It is a must have. If you want to protect your machine, I would recommend having this. It is easy to put on and it comes right off if you need it to. Doesn’t slide off and it has opening for the CD drive and all ports. I love it.

3 Stars Is it that hard to get it right???
I realise this isn’t a very expensive piece of plastic but why cant it be made more precisely? The tabs holding it on to the base dont quite make it over the edge, leaving an ugly bulge where it should just fit. It seems to trap dust and grit - not the fault of the case but I find I have to take it off now and then to clean it.
